The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has caused an unprecedented overhaul in how many businesses operate, including medical facilities such as ours.

Here at Rupenthal Dentistry as we reopen our business, we are preparing to see patients in our thoroughly sterilized and disinfected office. Sterilization in a dental clinic is specific to how we operate, and all proactive steps are being taken for everyone’s safety and well-being.

Our pre-COVID cleaning protocol was already highly structured and strict. Now, we are taking further steps to ensure your safety during these uncertain times. We will go above and beyond to be extra-cautious while the virus is still communicable, and maintain an appropriate level of care and caution moving forward.

Professional Guidelines, Rules, And Regulations

By following the most current recommendations published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as those laid out by the American Dental Association (ADA), our office and medical staff are up-to-date and well-trained in dental office sterilization procedures and most modern best practices. As updates emerge from the CDC and/or ADA, we intend to adapt accordingly to follow the most meticulous dental sterilization steps for everyone’s safety.

Staff Protection

All possible preventative measures are in place at Rupenthal Dentistry, protecting our staff and our patients alike. Staff will wear disposable gloves while interacting with patients, and handwashing with disinfectant soap is practiced numerous times daily. PPE is worn, including face masks and face shields. This medical-grade PPE is what protects our staff and our patients.

Tools And Equipment

All dental tools and dental equipment are disinfected and sterilized between patients, and when possible, disposable items are used and discarded after a single use with one patient.

Machinery, as well as all surfaces around the office, are cleaned many times throughout the day, including the waiting room area tables and chairs. We use a dental autoclave sterilizer, dental steam sterilizer, cold sterilization, and other measures to disinfect completely, as well as germ-killing chemical sprays and sanitizers.

Our office is also equipped with five Austin Healthmate Air Purifiers which delivers cleaner air for areas up to 1500 sq ft. Along with its 4-stage filtering system, it handles dangerous bacteria, fumes or odors, dust mites, chemicals, mold, pollen, and other airborne allergens.

Your Cooperation Is Crucial And Much Appreciated

We request that all patients come to their dental appointment alone, unless it is a parent or guardian accompanying a child, or someone who is in need of an aide. This process will help make social distancing more sustainable within the confines of the office. If you are in need of transportation, please have your driver wait outside.

If you are not feeling well, please stay home and reschedule your dental appointment to avoid the spread of illness of any kind. We will ensure that any staff member who is feeling unwell will not be permitted in the office until they have a clean bill of health.

Keep Your Appointment When Possible - Your Health Is Critical

Please do not put off your dental appointment out of fear! Your oral health is incredibly important, and any neglect can lead to additional problems down the road.

We can ensure you that we are taking all the necessary steps and measures to provide our patients with a well-sanitized and disinfected environment here at Ruppenthal Dentistry.
